QUALIFICATIONS
REPORTS TO Principal
JOB GOAL To provide assistance to teachers and help students become proficient in reading and/or mathematics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Meets the Federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) qualifications including an associate’s degree or 48 hours of college credit or have passed the ParaProfessional Praxis test
- Meets the health and physical qualifications
JOB GOAL To provide assistance to teachers and help students become proficient in reading and/or mathematics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides small group and/or individual instruction in reading and/or mathematics in grades K-8
- Writes lesson plans for small group reading instruction
- Delivers lesson plans according to specified techniques
- Administers screening and survey-level assessments under the guidance of the Response to Intervention Facilitator
- Administers running records under the guidance of the Instructional Facilitator
- Keeps accurate records of student work, attendance, and intervention
- Works with Response to Intervention Facilitator to monitor student progress
- Manages the behavior of a small group of students
- Uses personal computers and/or tablets and software applications for determining and monitoring student progress
- Attends training as needed
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the Principal
