What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wastewater Operator position at Cleveland-Cliffs Steel Corporation?
Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has immediate opportunities for Wastewater Operators at our Rockport Works operation. The Wastewater Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting wastewater and boiler equipment in the facility to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control wastewater and water treatment processes, including pumps, valves and chemical feed systems
- Operate and monitor boilers and auxiliary equipment to maintain proper pressure, temperature and other operating parameters
- Conduct regular inspections of treatment facilities to ensure proper functioning of equipment and processes
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations
- Respond promptly to operational issues to prevent or minimize disruption in wastewater treatment
- Collect samples and perform routine laboratory analysis to evaluate water quality and treatment efficiency
- Document operational data and test results accurately
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working ability to use computer programs for process control
- Strong work ethic, stellar attendance record, attention to detail
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment
- High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a related position and industrial environment
