Area Manager Maintenance

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for an Area Manager in our Maintenance Department at our Steelton location. The Area Manager is responsible for safety, production, productivity, quality, customer service, training and equipment reliability for maintenance planning and scheduling.

Summary Of Responsibilities

• Manages Shift Managers, Process Managers and their subordinate crews. Oversees Plant Operations, Manufactory Processes and Equipment Maintenance
• Directs and coordinates the development of short and long-range operation/maintenance plans, budgets, and performance targets
• Prioritizes tasks within the constraints of the safety standards, environmental regulations, production needs, budget, and labor agreements
• Meet Business Plan financial EBITDA and KPI goals
• Conduct Safety meetings, perform and record contacts/observations/interactions
• Investigate reports of safety incidents and issues in conjunction with Safety Department
• Collaborates with other departments regarding internal/external customer requests
• Promotes and encourages safety, teamwork, and high-performance standards throughout the section and oversees the disciplinary action
• Designs and leads training programs
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree OR 10 years of supervisory experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing facility
• Knowledge of safety and health policies including key components of the OSHA regulations ASTM specifications
• Demonstrated team building skills, works well with others of diverse backgrounds, and able to motivate others
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a union environment
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or other Technical Field
• Experience with maintenance planning software
• Strong technical skills including mechanical, electrical and maintenance
• Knowledge of melting and casting steel or other metals preferred
