Cleveland-Cliffs Tek and Kote has an immediate opening for an Hourly Instrumentation Maintenance Technician. As an hourly Instrumentation Maintenance Technician at Cleveland-Cliffs Tek and Kote, you will perform a variety of maintenance functions throughout the facility. The Cleveland-Cliffs Tek and Kote facility is located in New Carlisle, Indiana, and is a 24/7 operation that produces cold-rolled, hot-dipped galvannealed, and electro galvanized steel coils. As an Instrumentation Maintenance Technician at Tek and Kote, you will be part of a global team making steel that goes into products that are visible all around you.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Have the ability to conduct routine calibrations on various types of instruments including gas monitors, pressure, temperature, process, level, flow, scales, and analytical quality instruments.
- Have the ability to install, replace or repair process control instrumentation such as transmitters, controllers, control valves, flow meters, etc.
- Candidates must be able to read and interpret control diagrams, schematics, blueprints, process flow diagrams, process instrument diagrams, and operating instructions for all types of instrument control systems and control drives. Candidates must know the operation of all systems to understand their controls and to perform tests. As well as, have complete knowledge of interlock schemes for the control systems.
- Candidates must be able to understand, troubleshoot and make corrections to Distributed Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), and control software.
- Candidates should be able to execute preventative maintenance, testing and calibrations as required by the Quality and Process Control Instrumentation programs or other established procedures.
- Candidates should have the ability to prioritize daily workload and maintenance requirements based on safety, equipment critically, quality and production schedule requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must successfully pass an Instrumentation Qualification test.
- Be 18 or older and have the legal right to work in the U.S.
- Electrical & Troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment.
