Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Security Dispatcher at our Cleveland Works operation. The Security Dispatcher works directly with contract security officers, Plant Security Specialists (Sergeants) and plant management to ensure proper security and plant information is being collected and passed on so the department can respond to security needs of the facility.

Summary Of Responsibilities
- The Security Dispatcher provides specific support to plant or staff departments and divisions by using knowledge and skills to resolve issues within the framework of the specific function.
- Ensure calls for service are assigned appropriately, reports are generated as required, and proper documentation maintained.
- Help to ensure the department takes appropriate and reasonable actions to provide a safe working environment for employees and provides for the proper information being distributed to ensure the protection of company assets.
- The security dispatcher acts on all matters that impact the overall security of the facility, including but not limited to: Access Control/ Random Inspections/ Emergency Response/ Criminal Investigations/ Interactions with outside Resources/ Traffic Enforcement/ and U.S. Homeland Security & Maritime Security related issues
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Recognize potentially unsafe conditions and behaviors and correct them in a positive and appropriate manner.
- Deal with problems involving several variables.
- Respond to inquiries from divisions managers and coworkers
- Maintain accurate records
- Gather, collect, and classify information about data, people, or things
- Work rotating shifts and/or flexible hours, weekends, holidays, on short notice
- Develop and maintain confidentiality
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED), and two years of related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid State of Ohio drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
- Operate communication equipment effectively
- Communicate effectively in written and oral form
- Present a positive image to company staff and outside entities
- Use tact when dealing with others
- Operate standard office equipment including computers, copiers, and FAX
- Certified Emergency Telecommunicator
- Emergency Medical Dispatcher
- OHLEG Experience
- LEADS experience
- 2-year college degree
- Previous emergency dispatch background
