Medina Hospital’s Emergency Department provides care to over 25,000 ill and injured patients each year. The Medina Hospital Emergency Department is designated as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission for Hospital Accreditation, is accredited as a Geriatric Emergency Department by the American College of Emergency Physicians and earned the Lantern Award from the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) for its innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research. A caregiver in this position works evenings, 7:00PM—7:30AM. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing care. Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions. Administer prescribed medications and treatments. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Educate patients and their families. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of employment Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of employment One year of current acute care RN or Emergency Department experience.
