The Digestive Disease Institute specializes in medical and surgical treatments for disorders related to the gastrointestinal tract. G100 is a Gastroenterology and Hepatology unit that cares for patients with gastrointestinal and liver diseases and pre-transplant patients. Common diagnoses that are treated on this unit include Crohn’s disease, colitis, gastroparesis, gastrointestinal bleeding, pancreatitis, liver failure, complex multi-organ failure, nausea and sepsis. A caregiver in this position works nights, 7:00PM – 7:30AM. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients. Respond to patient call lights and make rounds. Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources. Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High school diploma or GED 1 year of experience in a customer service-related role Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: College degree Microsoft Office experience Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. Requires frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision.
