This Material Handler is unique, in that you will be working in the storeroom and on the nursing floors as well. You may be asked to drive a pallet jack (no experience or certification required). Since you will be working on the nursing floors, being empathetic to our caregivers and patients is necessary. You will not have any direct-patient interaction, but being on the floor requires an elevated level of empathy. Our nursing leaders on our units are fantastic caregivers and welcome your interaction on the floor as it pertains to their supply levels! We are looking for someone that is adaptable, resourceful with time management, organization and problem-solving, and is an independent contributor who can quickly and reliably make decisions. Materials Handling has plenty of opportunities for cross-training and growth within the team, such as Lead roles, Project Managers, Inventory Coordinators, Supervisors and Managers. A caregiver in this position works days, 7:30am—4:00pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide support to the hospital supervisor on project work. Collaborate with management to improve daily activities. Support areas that care for patients with higher level of acuity and volume. Receive products from shipping and receiving area, unpack and inspect items for damage, verify accuracy of shipment and input information in the warehouse management system. Receive, sort, put away, pick and deliver supplies, mail, patient records and other items as required. Rotate stock and check for outdates. Handle returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication. Support Site Managers with communications with customers to fulfill areas’ stocking needs and anticipate future needs. Deliver supplies and materials to appropriate floors and health care facilities. Monitor the flow of traffic into dock areas, prioritizing deliveries ensuring the safe receipt of goods and supplies. Put away freight, supplies, packages, and perishable items from dock facilities using materials handling equipment. Verify accuracy of shipments, check for damage to goods and document variances of orders. Prepare goods and supplies for distribution, prioritizing deliveries, sorting, and labeling loads ensuring the safe, correct, and timely delivery of orders. Stock picking locations using warehouse management system, either manually or utilizing materials handling equipment according to identifying information (size, style, and numbers) ensuring the safe movement of materials. Perform physical count of stock for inventory control verification. Survey, fill and stock nursing floors and clinical areas to maintain inventory levels. Unload and unpack cases and stocks designated storage areas with supplies. Perform routine expiry management duties to meet KPIs. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Meets all Cleveland Clinic insurance requirements. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High school diploma or GED. One year of materials management or related experience. Inventory knowledge. Basic computer skills.
