Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or designee, the Unit Clerk provides a high level of customer service to patients, families, visitors and employees to promote and support the highest level of patient experience. You will perform administrative and clerical duties to ensure efficient operational flow in their assigned department.
A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3:00PM – 11:30PM.

A Caregiver Who Excels In This Role Will
- Perform administrative and clerical duties.
- Conduct an in-person greeting and welcome newly admitted and transferred patients to the unit.
- Communicate with and facilitate communication between patients, families, other departments and healthcare team members regarding patient care.
- Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
- Provide concierge service to assist patients and families with wayfinding and directing them to available resources.
- Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
- Troubleshoot equipment.
- Respond to patient call lights.
- Keep nursing stations clean and organized.
- Complete mandatory education and training.
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience in a customer service-related role
- Microsoft Office experience
Physical Requirements
- Full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
- Frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time
- Normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision
- Some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids
- Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
