The J7-2 Cardiology Stepdown Unit prioritizes collaboration, communication, and compassion to deliver the highest quality care for patients with various heart, vascular, and thoracic diseases.
A successful caregiver in this position must:
Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and preferences.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical research and evidence-based practices.
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
BASIC life support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within the first year of hire in Critical Care, ED, or Special Delivery.
Completion of an ONS Chemo/Bio Course within two years of hire in units where chemo is administered.
Completion of a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) upon or within one year of hire in Dedicated Trauma Centers and ED.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Provider Status Certification through American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of hire for NICU.
Cancer-specific certification or demonstrated ongoing qualifying education in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Cancer Center, or Cancer Clinic and/or Chemotherapy.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within one year of hire in ED settings.
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
