The Clinical Speech Pathologistevaluates and treats patients, supervises work performed by staffand contributes to the management of daily operations. This roleprovides autonomy and opportunities to grow as aclinician. This is a home care role thatinvolves travel to patients' homesin the community to provide care to them at theirhomes .
Acaregiver in this position works 20 hrs / week, Monday - Fridayplus weekend and holiday rotation. This is a health benefiteligibleposition!
A caregiver who excels in this rolewill :
Performinitial and on-going assessments of patient’s condition and e stablishes goal and plan of care which are a ppropriateto problems i dentified and involves the patient / family accordingto their capabilities anddesires.
Performtherapy interventions using standard speech therapy techniques andskills appropriatefor the patient's age andcondition.
Evaluatecommunication and swallowing function ofpatients.
Selectassistive speech devices to improve patient’scommunication.
Maintaincomplete and up-to-date documentation and files regarding patientcondition and effectiveness and timeliness of care andinterventions.
Participatein ongoing interdisciplinary assessment of assignedpatients .
Participate as a member of the hospice interdisciplinary team whennecessary.
Minimumqualifications for the ideal future caregiverinclude :
Master'sDegree in Speech / LanguagePathology.
Speech-LanguagePathology licensure (SP) in the State ofOhio.
Certificationof Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech LanguageHearing Association(ASHA).
BasicLife Support (BLS)certification.
ValidOhio Driver’s license upon hire; per policy 8-175thereafter.
Proofof automobile insurance coverage with $100,000 / $300,000 coverage,upon hire; per policy 8-175thereafter.
Preferredqualifications for the ideal future caregiverinclude :
Oneyear of experience as a Clinical Speech LanguagePathologist.
