Job Summary
A Computed Tomography (CT) technologist uses computerized tomography scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. Your role involves accurately interpreting physicians' scanning instructions, administering contrast materials, preparing and operating the CT scan equipment, and positioning patients to capture the appropriate images.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room setup and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study, and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
- Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including the technical and clerical components, to ensure proper quality assurance results and required documentation.
