As a Dietary Aide, you help meet the nutrition needs of patients by ensuring proper food handling and transportation. In this role, you can gain hands-on experience in a healthcare setting, all while making a difference in the lives of patients every day.
A caregiver in this position works evenings from 10:30AM - 6:00PM, with every other weekend and rotating holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Perform a variety of duties to ensure proper distribution of prepared foods to patients, cafeteria guests and catered events.
- Accurately set up and deliver patient trays and nourishments.
- Distribute correct portions of food and beverage items.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of specific therapeutic diets.
- Follow department standards and procedures.
- Utilize and rotate food products, appropriately store leftovers and label and date food items.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Six months of experience in food service

Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus also required.
