What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director Imaging position at Cleveland Clinic?
Directs the departments overall operations to include budget development, clinical operations and patient access, employee management and non staff productivity, and assists in the development of department strategic initiatives aligned with the institute and enterprise.
Responsibilities:
- Directs the organization and management of department operational and business activities.
- Supports the application of CC operating procedures and communicates with management to ensure understanding and compliance with policies/procedures.
- Directs the selection and placement of new employees, performance evaluations and corrective actions.
- Helps to interpret and communicate policies/procedures and communicates relevant changes.
- Develops and manages departmental operating budgets and educational funding activities and monitors cost variances. Identify and lead key department cost management initiatives to achieve qualified results.
- Develop strong understanding and co-lead in the direction/monitoring of the revenue cycle for the department professional billing and reimbursement and associated technical centers within departments.
- Manage operational areas and identify and drive improvement opportunities in key areas including, patient access, patient experience, service line cost management, quality management, employee engagement and other department functions that support the overall institute performance.
- Leads approximately one hundred employees and sixteen staff physicians in multiple sites including the Main Campus in Weston, Parkland and West Palm Beach.
- Maintains and executes an approximately Multi-million dollar operating expense budget.
- Assists in implementing strategic initiatives within the department including institute growth strategies, new practice acquisitions and marketing plans.
- If Applicable, abides by regulations that apply to State and National licenses.
- Provides current documentation showing continuing medical education, certification, and license as required.
- Develops agendas for monthly department meetings. Maintains BLS certification.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field.
- Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
Certifications:
- Registered Radiology Technologist (RT) credentialed through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credentialed through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers preferred.

Work Experience:
- Five years progressively responsible related work experience, including supervisory experience.
- A Master's Degree.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires a mixture of moderate to heavy work as defined in the Employee Health Services Policy.

- Confidentiality: Has access to the medical record for the purpose of verifying orders in the charts or prescription and to sign off after exam completion. In addition, in this position the employee will be limit the PHI disclosed or requested to the amount reasonable necessary to achieve the purpose of the request.
- The disclosures or requests that occur on a routine or recurring basis include every patient's orders need to be verified prior to the exam.
- The employee makes these disclosures for the purpose of making sure that the correct exam is performed due to the doctors orders as well as signing off that the exam was completed of the request.
