What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Logistics Technician II - Clinical Engineering (Open) position at Cleveland Clinic?
Performs targeted rounding in active patient areas to recover assets for processing and redistribution. Cleans, triages, and delivers specified medical devices and equipment. Troubleshoots functional issues with select medical devices. Completes performance verification and preventative maintenance. Repairs select medical devices. Documents all work functions in electronic database(s). Assists with, and/or leads, special projects including new equipment deployment.
Responsibilities:
- Delivers, triages and recovers specified medical devices.
- Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs specified medical devices.
- Documents work activity in an electronic database.
- Assists with, and/or leads, special projects as designated.
- May be required to orders supplies and ensure adherence to unit/department budget.
- May be required to stock patient rooms or deploy supplies for use within unit/department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Associate's degree preferred.
Certifications:
- None required.
Complexity of Work:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
- One year hospital medical device logistics/repair experience required.
- Additional years of experience in hospital operations, logistics or related military training may substitute for medical device experience.
- Training in operations, lean/Six Sigma, and/or process improvement desired.
- Must be proficient with usage of web applications, databases, and spreadsheets.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time.
Ability to travel throughout the Cleveland Clinic health system.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
Ability to operate emergency equipment.
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
