Akron General's Operating Room (OR) department has a team of dedicated caregivers that work collaboratively to provide the best possible care for their surgical patients. Under the direction of the Team Manager Surgical Services in collaboration with the Director, Surgical Services, you will be responsible for helping ensure every patient has the most comfortable, supportive experience possible.
A caregiver in this position works from 7 : 00AM - 5 : 30PM, with on-call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will :
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
- Ensure surgical specimens are handled correctly by accurate identification.
