HOPS Assistant Nurse Manager - Endoscopy/Ambulatory

As Assistant Nurse Manager, you will supervise nursing staff in the Endoscopy Unit, acting as a role model, mentor and resource person. This team prioritizes collaboration, emphasizing an interconnected and welcoming work culture. A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30AM - 5:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide clinical supervision to nursing personnel within diagnostic and therapeutic service departments providing care to hospitalized patients.  
• Assume responsibilities of Nurse Manager in their absence. 
• Manage the day-to-day operations of ambulatory procedural settings caring for hospitalized patients. 
• Oversee nursing personnel and patient care providers in procedural settings to ensure quality of care. 
• Anticipate and resolve patient care issues.  
• Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers. 
• Provide ongoing clinical evaluation of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers on assigned unit/area. 
• Counsel caregivers on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and collaborate in monitoring attendance issues. 
• Alert the Nurse Manager of significant clinical or other performance issues. 
• Participate in interviewing, selecting and appraising the performance of caregivers. 
• Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines.  
• Monitor daily clinical operations of outpatient clinics (patient flow, staffing, supplies, etc.). 
• Prepare schedule of work assignments, assuring adequate coverage on all shifts. 
• Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA)
• Three years of clinical experience
• Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
• Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
