In this position, you will assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, and documenting patient care. You will also monitor and communicate changes in patient condition, maintain equipment and medical supplies, and perform administrative duties such as filing, reception, and data entry.
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong foundation in medical assisting principles and practices. A graduate from an approved medical assisting program or military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) is required. Additionally, completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience is preferred. Certification as a Medical Assistant and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) are highly valued.
This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires manual dexterity, good visual acuity, and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate should be able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
