The Green Health and Wellness Center Emergency Department offers 24-hour emergency care with board-certified, emergency medicine physicians who are available around-the-clock to provide comprehensive care to adults and children. Backed by the full resources of Cleveland Clinic Akron General and Cleveland Clinic, the Emergency Department provides advanced care in the Bath community.
A caregiver in this position works days, 8:00am—5:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Manage the work activities of the Health & Wellness or Satellite Emergency Department to include the RN and ED Technician. The Nurse Manager interviews, hires and trains staff; evaluates performance and provides feedback; makes personnel action recommendations (e.g. promotions, transfers, disciplines, termination).
Assume 24-hour responsibilities for nursing practice and unit operations.
Serve as clinical resource to nursing staff in the application of standards of care, policies and procedures and the nursing process.
Develop annual operational and capital budget for emergency department in conjunction with the ED Business Manager and Executive Director.
Assist with capital equipment planning.
Maintain departmental inventory (includes but not limited to the ordering of medical and office supplies, linen, and dietary needs).
Manage staff scheduling and coordinates assignments to maximize the utilization of personnel while providing optimal patient care.
Conduct staff meetings to communicate Quality and Process Improvement, Patient Satisfaction and Educational in-services.
Provide input for unit specific policies and procedures.
Provide direction and leadership during emergency or crisis situations.
Provide direct care to patients as needed, to maintain clinical skills, to assess particular and age specific patient care needs or for the purpose of instruction.
Facilitate staff attendance at educational and in-service programs and assist in facilitating employees' progress toward developmental objectives and skills competency.
Follow system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
Complete mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements.
Maintain applicable certification/licensure. Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
Licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio
Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
2 years relevant clinical experience in an emergency department and at least two or three years in a management position
