As Patient Access Representative, you will provide comprehensive business and financial services to patients on the day they arrive to receive services. This position will support check in and bedside registration for the Emergency Department.
A caregiver in this position works evenings from 4:30PM – 1:00AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Perform registrations by completing an accurate face to face interview to obtain demographic, insurance, medical and financial information.
- Crosstrain to staff all areas of Patient Access at any facility, including but not limited to, Front Desk, Admitting Office, ED and Cashier.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Function as a Super User and act as a resource for new team members and during the implementation of new processes.
- Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders or completion of course within one year of hire
- Two years of experience in a customer facing role with in-person or phone contact OR Associate’s Degree and one year of experience OR Bachelor’s Degree

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
- Working in a stationary position for extended periods
