A caregiver in this position works 7 : 00am- 6 : 30pm, Monday -Friday.
Acaregiver who excels in this role,will :
Evaluateand conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatmentprograms.
Performinitial and on-going assessments of patient'scondition.
Establish,revise and evaluate a plan of care which is appropriate to problemsidentified and involves the patient / family according to theircapabilities anddesires.
Performtherapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapytechniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition ofthepatient.
Superviseactivities of physical therapy assistants, students and othersupportpersonnel.
Minimumqualifications for the ideal caregiverinclude :
Bachelor'sDegree or certificaterequired.
Mustbe a graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by theAmerican Physical TherapyAssociation.
CurrentState licensure as a Physical Therapist(PT).
CurrentBasic Life Support (BLS) certificationrequired.
Preferredqualifications for the ideal caregiverinclude :
Experiencein Neuro or Vestibular highlypreferred.

PhysicalRequirements :
Abilityto walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintainbalance despite sudden load in order to support patient fromfalling.
Abilityto meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level definedby 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry ofLabor.
Abilityto lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm andleg during therapeutic treatmentprogram.
Sensationof touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tensionor to monitor patientpulse.
Visualacuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in orderto analyze these movements and to read all patientmonitors.
Abilityto speak clearly enough to instruct patients andfamilies.
Abilityto hear at a conversational level to understand patient'sdescription of symptoms and response totreatment.
PersonalProtectiveEquipment :
Followsstandard precautions using personal protective equipment asrequired.
