As an Outpatient Pharmacist, you will administer medications to patients accurately and efficiently at various locations throughout the CC Ohio region, including Lutheran Hospital, Fairview Hospital, Main Campus and others. Using your in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical practices, you will fulfill prescriptions with the correct medications and dosages with absolute precision. Your role is an essential element of our comprehensive model of physical and mental health care.
A caregiver in this position works days/evenings from 8:00AM – 4:30PM or 12:00PM - 8:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide pharmacy services and ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medication orders.
- Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.
- Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
- Contribute to medication safety initiatives.
- Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards.
- Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences.
- Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
- Be accountable for drug use policy adherence.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy
- Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible in current state within 90 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations within 90 days of hire for those administering immunizations
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience
- Board Certification

- Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
- Must have normal or corrected vision.
- Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
