A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Perform ED/surgical procedures (i.e., vascular, general medicine, ortho, cardiac, GI, GU, neuro, pediatric, and general procedures).
- Produce images of optimal quality for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.
- Provide verbal and written instructions to patients and families on procedures as needed.
- Assist in scheduling patients and determining priority of patients.
- Ensures patients' safety and comfort during and after the exam.
- Assist Radiologists, physicians and surgeons with procedures.
- in acquiring, archiving, transmitting, and printing images via PACS.
- Immediately report any malfunctions to the help desk and PACS Administrator.
- Maintain documentation requirements to ensure that all technical data is entered timely and accurately.
- Notify management and take proper action to address equipment malfunctions.
- Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires and Radiology students.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(R) (ARRT)] in good standing
- Current state licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
Physical Requirements:
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
