A caregiver in this position works 7:00AM – 3:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Regularly inspect, diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC systems.
Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration/air conditioning systems and other equipment, such as refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, medical and process chillers, cooling equipment, cryogenic freezers and rooftop heating/cooling units.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic controls, solid state microprocessors and system alarms.
Repair refrigerant leaks and evacuate and adjust refrigerant charges.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school diploma or GED.
State of Ohio EPA approved certificate for either Type I and Type II or Universal Refrigerant Systems Service.
Three years of experience as a commercial/residential air conditioning refrigeration technician. Military experience as a Machinists Mate, Utilitiesman, Utilities Equipment Repairer or a similar role will be considered. Formal vocational classroom study in refrigeration, air conditioning and/or air handling may substitute up to one year of experience.
Ability to read electric schematic diagrams.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Completion of a formal HVAC/Refrigeration training program.
Work experience in a hospital setting.

Physical Requirements:
Typical physical demands require full body motion including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching and climbing ladders.
Requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery; typically required to lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100 lbs. and/or assist with lifting weights exceeding 100 lbs.
Requires color acuity sufficient to distinguish color-coded signage and systems.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
