A caregiver in this position works 8:00am – 5:00pm.
The ideal candidate will be expected to participate in the day-to-day operations of the lab and will work closely with the principal investigator to develop expertise in experimental approaches in cell and molecular biology and immunology. The technician will design and conduct experiments, analyze data and interpret results under the mentorship of the principal investigator.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform laboratory techniques and procedures required for experimental studies.
Perform technical lab duties.
Schedule and perform various analyses.
Assist with establishing and scheduling various procedures and analyses.
Prepare reagents, purify chemicals, and identify, separate and quantify various substances.
Conduct testing and procedures utilizing laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
Accumulate data from analyses.
Prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables, publications, grant proposals and applications for research forms.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school diploma or GED.
2 years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment OR an associate’s degree in a laboratory science field and 1 year of work experience OR a bachelor’s degree.
Preferred qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Biology (or related fields) or expect to complete Bachelor's degree in very near future.
Interest in gaining research experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
Ability to distinguish color
Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment
Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds
May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $18.88
Maximum hourly: $28.80
