As an RN on the Lori Community Hospital Team, you will collaborate with all internal departments to support a diverse patient population. Patient needs constantly change, so adaptability, efficient communication, multi-tasking skills, empathy and quick decision-making are essential. This facility offers a small, close-knit and safe atmosphere where you can grow your nursing skills through hands-on experience and various development resources, such as advanced education, council involvement and leadership courses.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 7:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Coordinate total nursing care for assigned patients.
- Assess urgent and emergent health conditions using both physiologically and technologically derived data.
- Recognize/report abnormal clinical results to physicians and modify patient treatment plans as indicated.
- Delegate and supervise nursing care to associate staff members in accordance with the identified needs of the patients, employee capabilities and workload.
- Administer medications in compliance with hospital policy.
- Document data related to patients care including medical history, assessment results, interventions, medications, patient responses, or treatment changes.
- Manage patient pain relief by providing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, monitoring patient responses and changing care plans accordingly.
- Advocate and/or provide emotional support for patients and their families.
- Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
- Instruct patients, families and others on topics such as health education, disease prevention and care, and discharge instructions.
- Prepare patients for and assist with examinations and treatments.
- Assume Charge Nurse duties as needed(e.g., leading/participating in interdisciplinary team meetings, utilization review, performance improvement, etc.).
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing
- Current Ohio licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications

Physical Requirements:
- Full range of body motion for handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
- Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids
