Required training and certification "DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT MEET AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CERTIFICATIONS".
- An Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission approved course. Commonly referred to as the "120" course, this seven week course of instruction provides the individual with base knowledge and skills to become a security officer. An Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission certificate upon successful completion of the Academy and successfully passing a State examination must be provided upon application inception.
- The Ohio Basic Peace Officer Training Academy .Police academy students take courses in patrol operations, firearms, defensive tactics and criminal investigation using modern, high-tech police equipment. Students also receive expert instruction from local police officers, sheriff’s deputies and corrections officers, as well as state and federal agents. Successful graduates have a certificate issued to be commissioned.
- The Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission’s (OPOTC or OPOTA) 148-Hour Full Service Jail Corrections Basic Training Course.
- Military Police Officer Law enforcement within military bases. They also control traffic, respond to emergencies, conduct lawful arrests, interview the arrested suspects, guard military installations and correctional facilities, and conduct patrolling activities. Required DD214/8850 Honorable only indicating Military Police as an MOS.
****Must have a current OPOTA 20-Hour Firearms certificate or current LEO range card with proof of your active commission in OHIO******
WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to inside and outside environmental conditions. May require extended hours and/or weekends
