Job Summary:
Oversees the Club’s entire golf operation to provide the highest standards of excellence for Member and guest engagement. Plans all golf events to include weekly play and annual tournaments. Engages the community by promoting the Club as a host for outside Golf Outings. Responsible for the ordering and inventory of Golf Shop merchandise.
Job Description:
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Creates a Member service-oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets the needs of the Members.
- Plans, promotes, and executes high level member events including weekly play and annual tournaments.
- Organizes, plans and executes all Member Golf Tournaments from inception and promoting to the final scoring and presentation of awards.
- Plans family-friendly golf activities and events.
- Promotes the Club to local organizations and the Charlotte area encouraging the hosting of outside Golf Outings.
- Manages Golf 365 Tee Time Network system and Golf Genius Software.
- Maintains a visible and approachable presence not only in the Golf Shop but also on the Golf Course.
- Manages all Golf Shop inventory, including ordering and maintaining inventory.
- Works closely with Club Management to ensure timely communication of all aspects of the Golf Operations.
- Hires, trains, and supervises the entire golf staff including shop staff, cart attendances and outside services personnel.
- Ensures that every Staff Member provides the highest level of customer service.
- Prepares work schedules and assigns specific areas of responsibility.
- Performs payroll tasks as needed and makes daily adjustments to maximize productivity and minimize overtime.
- Enforces Golf Course policies and procedures to maintain the quality of the Golf Course and appropriate pace of play.
- Stays current with all golf rules and regulations.
- Stays informed on golf industry trends.
- Provides basic club repair services.
- Provides golf instruction through private lessons for Members.
- Addresses and resolves potential concerns or issues promptly.
- Attends weekly Manager Meetings and Golf Committee Meetings as scheduled.
- Work with all Club Staff Members promoting non-golf related Club events and activities.
Experience Required:
- Work experience in a hospitality/club environment.
- Highly focused on providing exceptional customer service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with members, guests and staff.
- Professional attitude and integrity.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, make decisions under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of service.
- Experience managing day-to-day golf operations.
- Experience supervising a team of shop staff and outside staff.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Experience in organizing, promoting and executing high level member tournaments.
- Team player with the mindset to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
- In-depth knowledge of golf, rules, and etiquette.
