QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with all custodial responsibilities.
- Familiar with electrical systems.
- Familiar with basic boiler operations.
- Capable of supervision and self-direction.
- Able to conduct good public relations.
- Dependable and of good moral character.
- Must have successfully completed a written examination for Custodian II position (unless already in a Custodian II position).
- High School graduate or equivalent (GED).
- Must be physically able to bend, stoop, climb, reach, work in high places, ability to move heavy items and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- For promotion to this position, employee must have received better than “unsatisfactory” in the overall category on his/her most recent evaluation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible to the administrator in charge of the assigned building or his/her designee.
- In the absence of a Custodian I, performs the same basic job responsibilities as a Custodian I.
- When assigned to a building having a Custodian I, work closely with the Custodian I in performing the work plans formulated by the above administrator.
- Supervision and training of Custodian III on the same shift, as directed by supervisor, along with regularly assigned duties.
- Make recommendations felt necessary to improve quality and operation of building care to supervisor.
- Inform supervisor of needed supplies and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director for Facilities or designee.
- Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
