PRIMARY PURPOSE:Actively seeking individuals passionate about the live entertainment industry to play an essential role in enhancing the fan experience at every home game by executing all pre-game, in-game and post-game entertainment as well as special activities in the park. Responsibilities include performing choreographed routines and skits, featuring in video segments, leading crowd chants, hosting contests, distributing giveaway items, capturing photos with or for fans, and generally providing entertainment to fans throughout the games. Contribute to the execution of special in-park and off-site events, encompassing corporate, community, and marketing occasions.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Support the Manager of Live Experience, Entertainment Team Coordinator and Game Director with the execution of all in-park and outside event entertainment
- Greet and engage with fans and the general public with a vibrant and energetic personality
- Participate in pre-game, in-game, and post-game entertainment activities, including contests, promotions, skits, routines, and special appearances
- Attend rehearsals and performance training sessions as required
- Contribute to the implementation of promotional giveaways, special celebrations, and in-park activation areas across various locations (All gates, Heritage Plaza, Corner Bar, Kids’ Clubhouse, etc.)
- Perform as ancillary costumed characters as assigned
- Serve as a handler for Hot Dog and Slider costumed characters during in-park and off-site appearances, ensuring the safety of the mascot performer and the public while safeguarding the Mascot costumes
- Work according to department requirements, off-season/winter events, and community and corporate appearances as assigned
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Live Experience, Entertainment Team Coordinator, and Mascot Coordinator
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Prior involvement in live performance, performing arts, cheerleading, dance teams, broadcasting, promotions, special events, street teams, or performing in front of large audiences
- Demonstrated proficiency in learning and performing rehearsed/choreographed materials
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Display an outgoing, athletic, high-energy, and cheerful demeanor in all situations
- Ability to be comfortable and at ease when on camera
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, maintaining a positive attitude in front of large crowds
- Adhere to team uniform and dress codes, including assigned Entertainment Team wear
- Exhibit the capacity to follow directions and adapt on the fly
- Possess cardio/respiratory endurance for activities, choreography, etc.
- Must be at least 16 years old; driving Guardians’ promotional team vehicle must be over 25 years of age
- General knowledge of the game of baseball is preferred
AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Flexible schedule and the capability to work extended days and hours, including a minimum of 51 home games and weekend home games
- Availability for outside appearances on non-game days
