PRIMARY PURPOSE: Support Cleveland Guardians’ photography needs and processes with a primary focus on non-baseball content such as community events and special programming. This role involves capturing, editing, and tagging photos, while also contributing to the asset management system. Responsible for producing timely, engaging content that enhances fan engagement and tells a compelling story across various platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Captures compelling visual content at non-gameday events such as community outreach programs, fan activities, staff events, and other team-related happenings both on and off-site.
- Produces high-quality photography and videography utilizing a variety of camera lenses and techniques to capture dynamic and powerful visual that tells a compelling story to fans and the public.
- Collaborates closely with the Live Experience department and other teammates to execute cohesive and successful photography shoots
- Assists in the management and maintenance of the organization's photography asset management system organizing a comprehensive digital photo library
- Performs asset tagging and maintains asset organization ensuring efficient access and retrieval of images for various purposes
- Contributes to “day-of” engaging visual content for social media platforms, website, and other digital channels, showcasing the team's personality and connection with the community as needed
- Assists with larger Live Experience department production shoots and other projects as needed, contributing to the overall success of the team’s photography efforts
- Uploads and edits photos post-event, curating and selecting the best images to upload to an online portfolio
- Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot and find solutions to technical and practical problems that may occur during photography and video production
- Maintains detailed log of best shots and captured content during production streamlining the selection and distribution process
- Provides back-up, live-action game photography support as needed
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in photography, journalism or related field
- Minimum 4-6 years of professional sports or event photography experience
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Bridge, Photoshop, Lightroom or comparable editing software
- In-depth knowledge of photo camera equipment, compression, and file formats
- Strong expertise in photo editing and the ability to work efficiently under pressure to achieve best photography shots
- Familiarity with baseball rules and scoring (or ability to learn quickly).
- Desire to work collaboratively in an innovative atmosphere
- Robust interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
- Highly organized, with good time management skills and attention to detail
- Capable of working under deadline pressure
AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Available to work extended hours for all homes games as dictated by job responsibilities and workload
- Available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
