Cleveland Hill UFSD is seeking a high-energy individual that is passionate about middle level education. Candidates should have knowledge of standards-based classroom instruction and be committed to collegiality and collaboration with his/her peers. Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Design and implement the mathematics curriculum
- Provide students with real-world project based learning opportunities
- Collaborate with math teachers to design collaborative learning opportunities
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
- Develop lesson plans
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
- Identify and utilize different instructional resources and methods to support the learning needs of students at varying levels of progress
- Use relevant technology to support instruction
- Observe and evaluate student performance and development
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments as appropriate
- Provide appropriate feedback on student work
- Monitor and encourage individual student progress
- Provide guidance to students, which will promote educational development
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development
- Update records accurately and completely as required by district policies
- Prepare required reports on students and activities
- Manage student behavior and maintain discipline by establishing classroom rules and procedures and enforcing classroom, school, and district rules and procedures
- Participate in department, school, and district meetings and professional development activities as appropriate
- Stay current with most recent developments in appropriate subject areas as initiated by the school or district
- Foster and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardians
- Create and maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment for students that includes SEL and restorative practices. Model, practice and discuss respectful, unbiased and effective communication with students
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Principles, theories, methods, techniques, and strategies pertaining to teaching and instruction of students
- Educational curriculum and instructional goals and objectives, and the educational trends and research-based findings pertaining to student educational programming
- Behavior management and behavior strategies, techniques, methods and conflict resolution procedures
- Socio-economic and cultural background differences of general student population; Cultural responsiveness
- Commitment to the success of all children
- Demonstrates success in collaborative teaching, managing a mixed-ability classroom and facilitating performance-based learning
