What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Supervisor / Estimator position at Cleveland J Billiot III General Contracting, Inc.?
The Project Supervisor / Estimator oversees the construction of one or more projects. Responsible for taking a potential project lead, generate an estimate, then develop and submit a bid to the appropriate entity. Perform take-offs, prepare project estimates and bids, create project schedules, manage materials and subcontractors, oversee projects. The work associated with this position will include, but not be limited to, the following: civil, mechanical, concrete foundations and paving, etc. This position is responsible to estimate and manage projects from start to finish.
- Perform accurate quantity surveys for all types of construction systems and materials.
- Assist with the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all types of projects.
- Maintain a library of historical labor rates, equipment rental rates, and material cost.
- Assist with the maintenance and conformance of existing databases and libraries.
- Assist with the intake, distribution, and archiving of estimating assignments.
- Assist with the review of proposed change documents and pricing as assigned.
- Assist with project document constructability reviews.
- Attend meetings as assigned.
- Make site visits with project/construction management as appropriate.
- Performs work in a safe manner and actively encourage others to comply with safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret both drawn and written construction documents.
- 5 years of professional experience in project management, field supervision, or estimating.
- Strong working knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and estimating for construction trades.
