Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and fabrication, with a focus on precision and quality. This role involves creating, repairing, and maintaining tools, dies, and molds used in the production process. The Tool and Die Maker will work closely with engineers and production staff to ensure that all tools meet specifications and are functioning effectively.
Duties
- Fabricate and assemble precision tools, dies, and molds according to specifications.
- Operate lathes, CNC machines, and other machining equipment to produce components.
- Utilize electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques for tool creation.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to understand project requirements.
- Measure dimensions using precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers to ensure accuracy.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on existing tools to extend their lifespan.
- Collaborate with design engineers to improve tool designs for efficiency in production.
- Work with plastics injection molding processes as needed for specific projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards while operating machinery.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating CNC machines and manual lathes.
- Strong skills in fabricating components from various materials including metals and plastics.
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints accurately.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Knowledge of CAD software for designing tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
