The Plant Controller is responsible for the oversight and management of the Accounting function, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and cost accounting.
Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, hours TBD
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Role & Responsibilities:

The Plant Controller is responsible for the oversight and management of the Accounting function, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and cost accounting.

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Role & Responsibilities:
- Organizes and maintains the chart of accounts in a manner that allows for meaningful tracking and analysis of business performance metrics.
- Oversees the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, complying with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Oversees accounts receivable and accounts payable team.
- Oversees the procurement and purchasing process, ensuring the proper checks and balances are in place and being followed by the Operations team.
- Provides timely and useful analysis from P&L activities (variance reporting).
- Oversees the integrity of the inventory management process, including leading regular physical inventories.
- Oversees the annual operating budget and provides timely and useful reports on budget variances.
- Provides financial analysis and support when justifying capital expenditures, leases, contracts, etc.
- Predicts, plans, and records variable costs such as purchases of raw material, labor, and operation costs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and accounting software.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in a cost accounting or plant controller role. Manufacturing experience is a must.
