What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Specialist - Outdoor Recreation position at Cleveland Metroparks?
The Outdoor Experiences Assistant supports the efforts of Outdoor Experiences staff with educational programs, camps, recreation programs, gardening, hosting, office work, cleaning, and other duties as assigned. The Assistant may be focused on outdoor education, outdoor recreation, historical interpretation, or facility / program support.
High School diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of one year of administrative experience required.
Willing to be certified, or currently certified in CPR / First Aid and AED use.
Certified Interpretive Host (CIH) preferred
Proficiency in computer software programs including Microsoft Word and Excel
Familiarity with internet communications and social media
Excellent interpersonal communication skills; enjoys regularly interacting with the public
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.
Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.
Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
Ability to work cooperatively with others.
Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative.
Strong computer and customer service skills are necessary. Attention to detail is a must.
Work Schedule : Must be available to work a variable schedule to include days, weekends, evenings and holidays
