What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Construction Seasonal Worker position at Cleveland Metroparks?
The Park Operations Specialist performs skilled and/or semi-skilled work, as assigned, which results in quality products, services or programs consistent with Park District policies.
- Regular and predictable attendance is expected and required. All Cleveland Metroparks employees must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
- Performs semi-skilled and, as capable, skilled work in one or more of the following job areas: general repair, mechanical, vehicle mechanical and maintenance, construction, carpentry, electrical, heavy equipment operation, plumbing, or horticulture.
- Assists staff to analyze major and minor problems in assigned work.
- Anticipates problems and recommends solutions for effective work product.
- Assists or completes assigned work.
- Completes and documents service report orders.
- Performs daily maintenance checks, and/or preventive maintenance, as assigned.
- Reports task accomplishments to supervisor.
- Demonstrates understanding of principles and skills required in producing quality work product.
- Oversees assigned crew of seasonal employees in the completion of daily work assignments or special projects: Trains employees; coaches employees in proper job performance techniques and procedures; directs work of employees; apportions work among different employees; determines the type of materials, supplies, or tools to be used by employees and controls the flow and distribution of materials and supplies.
- Maintains supplies, hardware and equipment related to production and work area.
- Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of skilled or semi-skilled level experience.
- Substantial or completed course work or certification (i.e., electrical, etc.) in designated technical field preferred. Certification or licensure applicable to trade or specialized fields preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license under the laws of the State of Ohio.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solving, prioritizing, managing multiple projects, and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.
- Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.

Work Schedule: Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays
