OLBPD Consumer Assistant - Ohio Library for the Blind and Print Disabled
Hours : Full time (37.50 hrs. per week)
Pay Grade : F1 = $22.2732 (SEIU union position)

JOB SUMMARY : Support the work of the Ohio Library for the Blind and Print Disabled, be a consumer
advisor and provide service to disabled Library users including general reference, reader’s advisory,
programming and general assistance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS : Education :
Associate degree from an accredited college or university or
A minimum of a high school diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relative experience as a consumer of services for
the disabled.
Experience :
Min. 2 years’ experience working with the public
Min. 2 years’ experience working with print disabled and persons with disabilities through direct or indirect experience
Proficiency in Unified English Braille (UEB) reading and writing required
Experience in a public library or public-sector is preferred.
User of adaptive technology and virtual and remote programming required
Ability to successfully interact with service animals on a routine basis
Technical Expertise :
- Administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records,
and other office procedures and terminology.
