SENIOR COMPUTER NETWORK TECH / IT Support Technician (Bargaining Unit : SEIU / 1199) Pay Grade H $28.30
Hours : Full-Time, Minimum of 8.00 hours per day. Must be able to work flexible and / or additional hours as mandated by library operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY : This position provides and maintains technical support of Cleveland Public Library.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Education : ▪ Associate degree in computer science, electronic technology / engineering is required. ▪ Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience :
- Five years’ experience in the following areas required : analyzing and resolving computer hardware problems; network troubleshooting.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in the following areas is required : a. MS Windows Active Directory including Forests, domain controllers and the use of management tools for objects such as users and computers. b. Network PC and domain-level management.
Technical Expertise :
1. Knowledge of and experience with Hypervisors for virtual server creation management.
2. Knowledge of imaging software methods such as Windows Deployment Tools
3. Experience with current computing practices, standards, and equipment is required.
4. Experience with router commands is preferred.
5. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 is required.
6. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
7. Experience in public library, public-sector, and a union environment is preferred.
8. Proficiency in MS Office or similar software is required. Relevant business management systems such as general ledger, HRIS, etc. Munis experience preferred.
Certifications : Active CompTia A and Microsoft Azure Fundamental certification strongly preferred. If candidate / employee does not possess certifications upon appointment, certifications must be obtained within one year of employment and maintained. Driver License : Required Other License : NA
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to :
1. Installs, tests, images, configures, and troubleshoots hardware and software applications and equipment on networked systems.
2. Creates and maintains Active Directory domain user and computer accounts.
3. Creates and modifies Windows group policies.
4. Creates and maintains Windows virtual machines.
5. Conducts remote troubleshooting, maintenance and deployment of software applications.
6. Installs cabling and wiring for system computers, servers and networks, and peripheral equipment.
7. Troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software, and communications problems including coordinating with vendors.
8. Provides staff with technical support related to the use of desktop computers, laptops, tablets, including but not limited to, hardware, software, and peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, etc.
9. Provides information regarding the use and functionality of hardware and software.
10. Recommends changes to improve and optimize computer and network functionality.
11. Performs network administration duties including monitoring and adding applications, users and devices, modifying user profiles, monitoring storage utilization, and documenting network changes and revisions.
12. Administers system-level security procedures including establishing and maintaining user accounts, assigning file permissions, and administering password and account policies.
13. Inventories new equipment and maintains data in the fixed assets system.
14. Logs problems in help desk software to monitor and resolve issues.
15. Performs work after hours and on weekends as needed.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
