Shift Details: This is a full-time (30 hours/week) working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (8 AM - 5 PM) and rotation of Saturdays
Pay Range: $12.00 - $13.00/hour (based on experience)
What We Are Looking For: We are seeking a self-motivated individual to help our four-legged friends look their best and assist our two groomers.

Job Summary: The purpose of the Bather position is to provide support to the grooming department with performing baths and prepping patients for grooming appointments. In addition, employee will assure the constant cleanliness of cages, runs and grooming related areas within the grooming suite.
How you'll make an impact:
- Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
- Administer baths (ordinary cleansing or medicated if directed), and perform any grooming that may be necessary to the treatment and constant cleanliness of each animal.
- Perform required procedures for all bathing and grooming patients, such as nail trims, ear cleanings, and anal gland expressions.
- Recognize and record any unusual condition or abnormal behavior of any patient; brings these concerns to the attending groomer and/or attending veterinarian.
- Provide each patient with water prior to and after bathing and/or grooming appointments.
- Walk patients prior to groom or bath as well as before leaving for the day.
- Receive patients to be admitted for bathing appointments and take responsibility for their proper identification and for recording their respective locations.
- Release patients to their owners and ensure that every animal released is clean and properly groomed and is accompanied by personal belongings.
- Assist doctors, technicians, assistants, and other personnel with any bathing needs.
- Provide care for patients housed at grooming location; perform work according to established methods specified in training and or knowledge manual following special instructions; report signs of illness, disease, injury, or unusual activity to Supervisor.
- At the request of the receptionist team, admit patients; assure patients receive required services by properly filling out record; place properly completed cage identification card (pet’s name, owner’s last name, contact number, grooming instructions) on each animal’s cage.
- Perform all general maintenance of grooming room and yard; clean and disinfect cages, tubs, grooming tables, and yard at least once daily; vacuum floor; mop floor; empty trash; clean clipper blades, scissors, and brushes after use; perform monthly dryer and clipper maintenance.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods and the use and care of cleaning materials and equipment.
- Knowledge of proper methods of animal restraint.
- Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency.
- Ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor including ability to bathe & place pet on grooming table.
- Ability to sympathetically and patiently work with fractious, injured, or ill patients.
- Ability to learn and to recognize abnormal conditions.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
- Ability to work with chemicals when performing medicated baths and dips. Knowledge of OSHA requirements when handling hazardous chemicals (i.e., medicated shampoos and dips).
- Exhibit a technical knowledge of products and medications sold, including dietary products.
- Demonstrate the ability to explain and educate clients on products and answer their questions regarding product purchase/use.
- Ability to work well with all team members and ensure that actions support the grooming facility and the MVP philosophy.
