Job Summary
Operates radio, telephone and computer equipment at base station. Receives and transmits communications dispatching personnel and equipment. Receives, processes and prioritizes emergency and non-emergency calls for safety service (Police, Fire and Medical) by telephone, radio, and computer-aided dispatch. Maintains various logs, electronic and paper files. Activates the University Mass Notifications Systems. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent. Keyboard skills and six months experience utilizing a computer database, word processing, or spreadsheet package. Ability to interact effectively, efficiently and professionally with University personnel and public in person and over the telephone, radio and computer-aided dispatch. Ability to multi-task in a controlled, effective manner while working under stress. Strong customer service skills. Ability to work varied hours and shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays and rotating shifts.
