EVP of Human Resources Responsibilities :
The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for developing and executing the people and human resource strategy in support of the companys plan and strategic direction
This position is responsible for establishing and coordinating all aspects of the human resources function including annual planning in Q4 to present for the following year, maintaining Action Plans weekly / monthly / quarterly
This position oversees all areas of talent acquisition, hiring, employee relations, mergers and acquisitions (such as acquiring new Centers and be responsible to onboard new employees, assess current structure of benefits, payroll, etc.), retention, engagement, training, culture, compensation and benefits, and safety / labor compliance.
The VP will work closely with the senior leadership team to proactively lead strategy that will strengthen the organizations ability to drive growth, performance improvement, and operational excellence across the organization
Advise the Center Directors and Management team to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and address escalated employee concerns as needed
Analyze and facilitate the effectiveness and efficiency of HR operations and policies Evaluate, analyze, assess and propose opportunities for HR process and operations improvements to align with critical needs in the business
Oversee all aspects of benefits administration and compliance (medical, workers comp, dental, vision, life, etc.)
Maintain Human Resources and Talent KPI s, metrics and strategies which focus on employee engagement, retention / turnover, performance management, and talent promotions
Leads meetings with senior leadership team regarding key HR metrics, policies, trends, strategies and developments
Responsible for leveraging technology and people analytics to monitor HR Metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
Develop a succession planning program that is future focused and incorporates development programs, talent pipeline relationships, and educational programs to ensure clarity and accountability
Possess deep understanding of compliance / regulatory requirements and labor law / regulations
Apply broad knowledge of HR systems, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, compensation, EAP, performance management, talent development and acquisition, and risk management of people side such as workers compensation, unemployment, EEOC cases, etc.
Oversee strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the staffing needs of strategic goals and growth for the organization
Function as a strategic advisor to senior leaders regarding key organizational and management issues and provide services that support their success and advance the mission
Role model who inspires and acts as a good steward of our mission, vision and values for the entire organization
Lead and assist in communication planning for complex employee policies, including, but not limited to, benefits changes, updates to pay structures etc
The VP will build upon 5 consecutive years of HR and organizational success and maintain this trend
Lead team of 3 team members of Sr. HR Generalist, HR and Talent Acquisition Assistant, Payroll Specialist (part-time), and TA Specialist
Work closely with leadership and employees to improve work relationships, resolve conflict, build morale, and increase retention
Will travel to Centers in Cleveland, Akron, and Columbus to ensure that presence is established across all regions.
Operations Responsibilities :
Handle parent relations matters, including communication with upset parents when Center Directors are uncomfortable addressing them, and managing the disenrollment of families who fail to adhere to the Center's best practices and policies
Co-manage with the CEO the companys business Risk Management such as comprehensive insurance and risk management program (crisis management, reporting of bus injuries / accidents, etc.), assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, safety and security of the organization
Co-manage with the CFO the companys business insurance renewals such as General Liability Insurance, Commercial Property Insurance, Commercial Vehicle Insurance, Professional Liability Insurance, Directors and Officers Insurance, Cyber Insurance, Business Interruption Insurance, Employment Practice Liability Insurance, Workmans Comp Insurance, process / update annual Cert of Liab Insurance for all Centers, process / update annual Food Service Licenses, process / update Fire Inspection audits
Co-manage with CEO / CFO Lease renewals and act as liaison on behalf of CEO / CFO with our Corporate Lawyer
Assist VP of Growth / Strategy with Maintenance and Facility oversight when needed such as software implementation, review of department needs, etc.
Assist the VP of Growth / Strategy and CEO with Vendor management such as expense assessment, vendor outreach, etc.
Miscellaneous :
Ghost writes for CEO, VP of Growth, and Directors; and proffread any critical memo, email messages, scheduled to disseminate to staff
Assist in any areas of Operations when help is requested / needed such as Marketing, and IT etc.
Qualifications :
Masters Degree in Human Resource Management preferred but not a must
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resources
20 plus years of experience in a director and officer role combined
Excellent written and communications skills
Ability to lead and inspire HR teams, set strategic direction, and drive organizational change initiatives.
Capacity to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
Soft skills involving maintaining a balanced demeanor, adept at serving as both a confidant and impartial mediator in conflict resolution situations
Must be metrics driven to ensure positive progress and support toward companys annual KPIs
