Role at a Glance:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accounting Manager to lead financial reporting, compliance, and operational accounting functions. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, managing audit processes, and driving efficiencies through effective policies and controls. The Accounting Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including FP&A and operations, to support the company’s financial health and strategic decision-making.
“Day in the Life” of an Accounting Manager
• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial statement preparation and analysis
• Manage and mentor accounting staff to ensure accuracy in revenue, receivables, expenses,
and general ledger activities
• Review and approve customer payments for billing or claims transactions
• Stay current with and implement new technical accounting pronouncements
• Work closely with FP&A to manage financial performance and department budgets
• Oversee the day-to-day audit process, working with external auditors and the parent company
• Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls for efficiency
• Collaborate with leadership on Board package preparation, special projects, and process
automation
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of reconciliations, analysis, and financial statements
• Oversee financial reporting for revenue, broker collections, carrier payments, and expenses
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and evolving accounting standards
• Lead the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements with the parent company
Audit & Internal Controls
• Manage the audit process, including coordination with external auditors
• Develop and implement accounting policies and controls to improve efficiency and compliance
• Ensure accuracy in financial reporting through effective internal controls
Business & Operational Support
• Work closely with FP&A to provide financial insights and oversee department-level operating
expenses
• Interact with operations to review and approve customer payments
• Support leadership in financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision-making
Team Management & Development
• Lead and mentor accounting staff and consultants to ensure timely and accurate financial
• Provide guidance on accounting best practices, system usage, and compliance requirements
