Key Responsibilities:
Tax Preparation - Personal & Small Business Clients
· Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and on time
· Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
· Assist in tax planning and strategy to optimize tax liabilities
· Liaise with tax authorities on audits and inquiries when needed
Bookkeeping – Small Business Clients
· Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
· Reconcile bank statements, financial accounts, and resolve discrepancies
· Manage small business payroll processes, including accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions
· Prepare periodic financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis
Compliance
· Ensure that the company’s financial practices comply with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., SEC, GAAP, IFRS, tax codes)
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for compliance audits and inspections.
· Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and data
· Monitor changes in regulatory environments and adapt policies as necessary.
