Description
As a Calibration Technician III, you will be responsible for performing the daily operation of and providing support to users of the calibration program. In this role, you will document and update calibration procedures, as well as test, inspect, and coordinate the calibration of measurement equipment. You will maintain calibration traceability, monitor calibration status, and update the calibration database. Additionally, you will train others in calibration procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute the calibration program and associated practices for all inspection, test, and measuring equipment.
- Training equipment owners on use of the calibration program.
- Inventory, Identify, and catalog equipment requiring calibration.
- Adding new equipment to the calibration database and labeling it with calibration associated information.
- Provide operational assistance with calibrating equipment.
- Scheduling on-site and off-site calibrations by external calibration suppliers.
- Communicate the status of in-process calibrations supported by calibration team to equipment owners.
- Review calibration test results and certificates for accuracy.
- Communicate calibration due dates to equipment owners, and issue calibration recall reports.
- Maintains calibration and quality records.
- Support execution of calibration by external calibration suppliers including:
a. Maintaining documentation for continued certification and utilization of external calibration suppliers.
b. Submitting calibration purchase orders.
c. Reviewing and approving of inside and outside calibration data.
d. Addressing issues that arise during calibration of equipment by suppliers.
- Identify and support the implementation of best practices to consistently deliver timely and high-quality calibration services.
- Ability to document and update calibration procedures.
- Train other calibration technicians
- Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
- Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate Click Bond policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Solid analytic problem-solving skills.
- Understands calibration methodology to apply concepts to new tool types.
- Possess troubleshooting skills to perform basic instrument diagnosis and adjustments.
- Familiar with the use of NIST traceable gage standards.
- Mathematical skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must have experience in using advanced measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, toque gauges, and optical comparators.
- Knowledge in vision systems (setup, configuration, operation).
- Knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- In depth knowledge of ISO17025
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite with the capability to write reports and send correspondence.
- Ability to write and read English.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Associate degree preferred
- Eight years of experience in Quality required. Certification and education will be considered in lieu of experience.
- Five years minimum experience in calibration. Certification and education will be considered in lieu of experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Certifications from professional organizations (i.e., ASQ) is preferred, such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or Certified Calibration Technician (CCT)

- Close vision, color vision and able to adjust focus, occasional microscope work is required.
- Vision examination may be required for this position.
