GI Technician at Charlotte Surgery Center
The GI technician / Endoscopy functions under the direct supervision of a surgeon to assist with the operation of technical equipment used during simple and complex endoscopic procedures. The physician, registered nurse and the GI technician work as a team in the procedure room to provide the optimal conditions in achieving positive patient outcomes. The GI technician is also responsible for cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining endoscopes and other instrumentation. Other GI technician responsibilities include facilitating patient flow, room turnover. Stocking procedure rooms, ordering supplies and performing a variety of clerical duties.
