- Develop and optimize financial strategies and administrative processes to ensure the organization’s long-term financial sustainability, providing accurate, timely, and data-driven financial insights to support decision-making at all levels, including the Board of Directors, executive leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to shape the organization’s people strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals through effective talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement, and culture-building initiatives.
- Drive financial sustainability while cultivating an engaged workforce, balancing fiscal responsibility with initiatives that enhance employee well-being, retention, and productivity.
- Design, implement, and continuously refine financial controls to mitigate risk, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead financial oversight of federally funded programs, ensuring strict adherence to compliance requirements while maximizing funding impact and organizational accountability.
- Advise the Board of Directors and executive leadership on financial strategy and organizational performance, participating in meetings to provide insights and recommendations that drive mission success.
- Act as the key financial liaison for the Board’s finance and investment committees, providing data-driven recommendations on financial planning, risk management, and investment strategies.
- Equip staff and volunteers with financial knowledge and best practices, providing training and technical guidance on accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative procedures to strengthen financial acumen across the organization.
- Oversee the organization’s financial audit and tax filings, ensuring transparency, compliance, and proactive risk management in coordination with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Lead the development of the annual budget in collaboration with executive leadership, aligning financial resources with strategic priorities and presenting a comprehensive proposal to the Board of Directors.
- Enhance financial literacy among department leaders, empowering them to make informed budgetary decisions that align with financial best practices and long-term sustainability.
- Establish administrative purchasing procedures and ensure compliance with purchasing procedures by the organization.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to finance and administrative teams, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and optimizing team performance.
- Assess and manage the organization’s business insurance portfolio, identifying and mitigating risks while ensuring adequate coverage for operational needs.
- Oversee rental and lease agreements, ensuring contracts are strategically negotiated, cost-effective, and aligned with operational goals.
- Engage as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Represent the organization at industry and community events, strengthening external relationships and advocating for the Foodbank’s financial and operational interests.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes, proactively adjusting financial and operational strategies to align with evolving risks and opportunities.
- Drive organizational planning and development efforts, ensuring financial and operational strategies support the mission and long-term impact of the Foodbank.
