Client First Technologies currently is seeking a Technical Operations Manager to support our government customer. The Technical Operations Manager will lead an enterprise team of System Engineers, Network Engineers, and System Administrators in supporting a nationwide environment, including all physical and cloud-based computing and network infrastructure. A successful candidate will provide end-to-end infrastructure support services, as well as additional guidance to the client leadership team in improving IT services within the environment, and architecting solutions to help solve their business problems. The Tech Ops Manager is the face of Operations and will be a trusted advisor to the client. The candidate will be responsible for direct reports and ensuring overall customer success in timely milestone delivery and project completion. The Tech Ops Manager will also work directly with the customer and additional stakeholders within the environment, to provide technical and operational insight on projects/tasks/incidents. This is a high-paced environment that will require creative technical solutions and rapid response to ensure mission critical systems are available 24x7x365. Description
Responsibilities
· Coordinates and communicates with the government customer to understand priorities and provide status on ongoing operations and special projects
· Provides leadership and direction to a team of System Engineers, System Administrators, and Network Engineers
· Manages and administers all computing and network infrastructure, including Dell/HP servers, Cisco/Juniper networking equipment (routers, firewalls, switches, wireless devices, intrusion detection/intrusion prevention), Dell/Exagrid storage/backup solutions, Commvault, Nutanix hyper-convergence technology, Azure Cloud environment and applications, and a variety of other core data center infrastructure
· Designs recommended cloud-based infrastructure solutions for a variety of technical requirements: secure multi-site communications, document management, identity and access management, application and database hosting, etc.
· Develops a migration plan to transition from on-premise data centers into the cloud
· Develops and implements on-premise and cloud disaster recovery plans
· Executes and monitors an enterprise system patching approach using enterprise tools (e.g., Microsoft SCCM) across a variety of systems and technologies
· Ensures the team is equipped with the tools for success, including documentation, Standard Operating Procedures, and technology-specific training
· Hardens systems in accordance with federal guidelines (e.g., DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides) and the documented security controls of the systems Authority to Operate (ATO)
· Works closely with other divisions and stakeholders and maintain and achieve ATOs, including supporting the development of relevant cyber security artifacts
· Plans and executes disaster recovery test events and implementing corrective actions
· Performs company employee supervisory duties (e.g., timesheet approval, employee performance management, annual performance reviews, coordination with HR regarding employee concerns, etc.)
Qualifications
· Master's Degree in an IT related field plus a minimum of 10 years professional IT experience performing tasks directly related to leading IT operations teams (OR a Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 20 years of experience)
· Relevant experience and/or certification in IT Service Management (ITSM)
· Demonstrated ability to lead complex cloud-based engineering and migration initiatives Proficient with Azure GCC platform products and services
· Experience as a Senior System Administrator for servers and network devices Strong PowerShell script development
· Experience with Microsoft SQL Server database administration
· Experience securing systems in accordance with federal standards and regulations, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes
· Experience with Agile delivery programs
· Experience developing and presenting technical briefs to an executive level audience
· Must be able to work quickly with a high degree of accuracy with cross-functional teams
· Professional verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
· 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security CE, CCNA, CISSP, CySA , etc) preferred
· Relevant certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, Juniper Networks, or Nutanix highly preferred
· Experience with Dell, Cisco, and Juniper devices highly preferred
Physical Demands
· Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
· Occasional travel and overtime may be required
Required Clearances and Screenings
· The ability to pass a Government Background Investigation (BI); a current SECRET (or higher) security clearance preferred
