Overview:
If you are an experienced professional in the aluminum industry, we invite you to join our team as a Commodity Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive global sourcing strategies for aluminum and related products. Your primary focus will be on achieving cost-effective procurement, ensuring timely delivery, and maximizing return on investment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Supplier Management: Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation, and selection processes. Manage supplier relationships, negotiate agreements, and monitor performance to ensure continuous improvement.
- Risk Mitigation: Develop strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and support new product initiatives.
- Process Optimization: Drive process improvements and leverage technology to enhance procurement efficiency, reduce costs, and implement best practices.
- Supplier Continuous Improvement: Generate and present supplier performance metrics, manage corrective actions, and lead time reduction initiatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of the aluminum industry, including both domestic and international markets.
- Proficiency in commodities and derivative transactions.
- Ability to travel domestically 25-50% of the time.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems is beneficial.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited institution.
- 5-8 years of experience in a Supply Chain or Procurement role related to aluminum.
- Background in purchasing within a manufacturing or engineered product environment.
- Experience with global supply chain initiatives and strategic planning.
- C.P.M., CPSM, or CPIM certification is preferred.
