Position Overview:
Join our team at Kinder Morgan and play a key role in shaping the present and future of North America's energy infrastructure. In this position, you will coordinate daily scheduling activities across one or more of Kinder Morgan's Eastern Interstate Natural Gas pipeline assets.
The Scheduling Representative serves as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, addressing and resolving issues related to natural gas transportation scheduling, allocations, imbalances, and overseeing daily processing activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze and resolve issues regarding natural gas transportation scheduling, allocations, and imbalances.
- Provide excellent customer service and promptly resolve customer issues.
- Processes nominations and confirmations following federally mandated deadlines.
- Work with producers, marketers, and downstream interconnects to manage/minimize imbalances.
- Assist with processing allocations of physical flow.
- Execute on daily commercial activities that require nominations.
- Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by NAESB and the pipelines FERC tariff.
- Lead special projects and contribute to testing efforts of system enhancements.
- Maintain positive relationships with pipelines, producers, marketers and internal business owners.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline from an accredited university.
- 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in the natural gas industry.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills appropriate in a dynamic open team office environment
- Ability to positively interface with customers personally via telephone in a highly efficient, knowledgeable, and professional manner.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as work autonomously with limited direct supervision.
- Ability to balance competing priorities; work within tight and changing deadlines and scope with a high degree of personal initiative.
- Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Solid analytical, conceptualization and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience (not required):
- Working knowledge of NAESB standards and guidelines as it relates to nominations, confirmations, scheduling, and allocations.
- Previous experience in a customer service position where complex concepts are conveyed over the phone within a limited time frame.
- Knowledge and experience in using Kinder Morgan’s proprietary computer system: DART.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Power BI experience desired.
- Strong computer skills including ability to use Microsoft software products and aptitude to learn proprietary natural gas scheduling systems and other applications quickly.
Working Conditions:
- Continual phone conversations throughout the day with customers, other schedulers, pipeline controllers, and interconnect operators.
- Must be able to handle stressful situations and effectively manage operations occurring simultaneously on different pipelines.
- Must be able to work effectively and efficiently in an open space environment shared by other team members.
- Extended work hours may be required in cases of deadlines or extreme weather events
